BRIDGEWAVE ENABLES MILLIMETER WAVE 80 GHZ GIGABIT BACKHAUL IN SUPPORT OF CLEARWIRE’S NEW YORK CITY 4G NETWORK

BridgeWave's 80 GHz links have also been deployed in several key Northeastern Clearwire markets including Boston, Bridgeport, Hartford, New Haven and Pittsburgh.
As voice-centric networks begin the transition towards 4G, operators are challenged with providing high-capacity backhaul that can withstand the traffic resulting from high-speed data. While older networks focused on making voice calls and later added data capabilities, Clearwire's 4G network offers users the ability to transmit large amounts of data at speeds four times faster than 3G*.
