BridgeWave Communications Receives 2009 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award
FlexPort™ Recognized for Outstanding Innovation
Santa Clara, Calif. – June 30, 2010 – BridgeWave Communications, the leading supplier of gigabit wireless solutions, announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) has named BridgeWave's FlexPort as a recipient of a 2009 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award.
BridgeWave's FlexPort 80 GHz wireless system is the first millimeter wave solution on the market that was purpose-built for next generation networks. Aside from simply providing gigabit capacity, FlexPort contains carrier-class features needed to support existing operators migration from 3G to 4G networks, or for carriers considering greenfield WiMAX deployments. FlexPort combines native TDM plus IP transmissions in a single, compact, all-outdoor solution while enabling Advanced QoS, Ethernet OAM, flexible RF channel tuning, Adaptive Rate and Modulation, and software capacity upgrades for true future-proof network connectivity.
“With the proliferation of wireless devices used to access the Internet, carriers are challenged with keeping up with bandwidth demands,” said Amir Makleff, chief executive officer at BridgeWave. “We are pleased that the FlexPort product was recognized for this award, as it was purpose-built for carriers to meet their customers bandwidth needs.”
“BridgeWave has been recognized with a 2009 Product of the Year Award for their admirable efforts in the advancement of 4G network communications,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “FlexPort provides operators with significant ROI compared to leasing fiber, while allowing operators to deploy gigabit speeds more rapidly than trenching fiber. Congratulations to the entire team at BridgeWave. I look forward to more innovative solutions from them in the coming year.”
The Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award recognizes the vision, leadership, and thoroughness that are characteristics of the prestigious award. The most innovative products and services brought to the market from March 2008 through March 2009 were chosen as winners of the Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award.
The 2009 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award winners are published on the INTERNET TELEPHONY and Customer Interaction Solutions web site.
