BridgeWave Communications Registers and Installs First E-Band Link Based on New FCC Rules
Santa Clara, CA - June 2, 2006 - BridgeWave Communications, the leading supplier of gigabit wireless solutions, announces the registration and installation of the first E-Band gigabit wireless link using a small form-factor one-foot antenna.
The original E-Band (71-86 GHz) frequency rules required the use of two-foot antennas that are bulky, costly, and can be challenging to install. BridgeWave co-sponsored an FCC petition to optimize the E-Band rules for mainstream applications by allowing small form factor antennas that are lower cost and much easier to mount and align. The FCC substantially adopted the recommendations last year, paving the way for a new class of E-Band products.
