BridgeWave Expands its Executive Management Team with the Appointment of Telecom Industry Veteran Robert Stone as VP of Strategic Initiatives

Experienced Telecommunications Executive and Municipal Networks Pioneer will Lead the Company's Emerging Presence in the Fast-Growing Muni Wireless Market

Santa Clara, CA – May 9, 2007 – BridgeWave Communications, the leading supplier of gigabit wireless solutions, today announced the addition of telecommunications industry veteran Robert Stone to its executive management team in the newly created position of vice president of strategic initiatives.

In this role, Stone will guide BridgeWave's intensified efforts in the fast-growing market for the deployment of next-generation municipal wireless networks. A pioneer in the municipal wireless market, Stone will leverage his extensive experience from working with a wide variety of city networks around the world to accelerate the deployment of BridgeWave's high-capacity, secure GigE wireless bridges. As the former head of wireless business development for CenturyTel, a leading provider of advanced communications services, Stone led the company's efforts to gain widespread market acceptance of emerging high-bandwidth networking technologies. He also has served in senior management positions with free-space optics manufacturer Terabeam and competitive carrier Rhythms.

According to Amir Makleff, president and CEO for BridgeWave, Stone's outstanding record for penetrating emerging market segments will reinforce the company's position as the Gigabit wireless market leader. "We are thrilled to welcome an industry veteran like Bob to our executive team," he says. "His stellar record of accomplishments in bringing new high-speed networking alternatives to the municipal market will raise BridgeWave's profile in a growth area well suited for our family of secure, interference-immune, high-capacity wireless solutions."

While at CenturyTel, Stone founded and greatly expanded the service provider's municipal network business. His achievements in that market include designing and deploying the first ILEC citywide wireless network, in Vail, Colo. While at Terabeam, he played instrumental roles in the deployment of dozens of other municipal networks around the world, including Calgary and Stockholm.

"Bob's efforts have made an indelible contribution to the city of Vail," says Ron Braden, IT director for the city of Vail. "Because of his keen vision, unwavering dedication and technical knowledge, everyone in Vail can take advantage of one of the most outstanding municipal networks in the country." The pioneering network offers all citizens and visitors to the popular ski resort town unlimited-bandwidth, wireless Internet access, which is complementary for the first hour and then available for a nominal hourly fee thereafter, while also providing separate private networks for city employees and emergency services.

"Having the opportunity to join BridgeWave at this pivotal time in the company's growth is an exciting opportunity," says Stone. "BridgeWave's family of Gigabit Ethernet wireless solutions is a perfect fit for municipal networks everywhere. We want to get the word out to municipalities and service providers that GigE represents a great alternative to fiber deployment while also being an outstanding value for the investment."
