System/RF Test Engineering Manager |
| Position Summary: |
System/RF Test Engineering manager works with design engineers and operations staff to transfer products to manufacturing with low cost and high yield objectives. Works closely with design engineers to develop test processes and procedures that support high-volume manufacturing. Supports production and contract manufacturing teams with test fixture, product troubleshooting and other technical issues. Provides support for existing products and training, when needed, to production technicians and contract manufacturing personnel. |
| Essential Duties & Responsibilities: |
- Develops and implements software and hardware solutions to test complex analog and microware products
- Involves directly in the troubleshooting of complex systems and products. Identifies root cause and provides resolution for corrective actions
- Performs detailed evaluation of proposed changes, including analysis of impact on: customer expectations, product reliability, product cost, material availability and obsolescence.
- Formulates and develops test strategies, test philosophies and production specification during product development; advises on required changes to test specifications and Manufacturing Processes.
- Maintains and improves ATE’s; creates database to record, capture and analyze all ATE data
- Supports transfer of new processes and products to contract manufacturers and sustains their technical capabilities
- Works with Contract Manufacturers to set acceptable Manufacturing process and resolve technical issues
- Implements with design engineers, design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for test (DFT)
- Provides feedback to engineering on products’ marginal performance

| Required Knowledge, Skill and/or Abilities: |
Technical:
- Ability to design and develop new test systems, including supporting hardware and software
- Ability to coordinate and resolve technical issues with the responsible design engineers in regards to specifications and test methodologies
- Ability to travel and support suppliers with global reach
- Experience with telecom and/or networking
Education:
- Experience in all areas of position responsibilities.
- Demonstrated functional experience with networking, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, power meters, and RF switching techniques. Five years experience in Manufacturing/R&D environment with RF products
- Software experience with LabView, Virtual Basic, C/C++, or other similar products
- BS, BSEET, BSEE, BSSC, BSME or equivalent
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
